Bernardo Provenzano – 1933 – an Italian mobster and head of the Sicilian Mafia from 1993 until his arrest in 2006. Provenzano was known by the nickname “The Tractor,” which referred to his ability to plow down his enemies. He was considered one of the most powerful and dangerous mob bosses in Italy.

James Franciscus – 1934 – an American actor known for his roles in films such as “The Longest Day”, “Beneath the Planet of the Apes” and “City on Fire”. He also appeared in the television series “Mr. Novak,” “Naked City” and “Longstreet,” for which he received a Golden Globe nomination.

Suzanne Pleshette – 1937 – an American actress. She appeared in over 70 films and television shows throughout her career. Pleshette’s notable films include “The Birds”, “Nevada Smith” and “Support Your Local Gunfighter”. She also appeared in the television series “The Bob Newhart Show”.

Beatrix Wilhelmina Armgard – 1938 – a former queen of the Netherlands. Beatrix became queen in 1980 following the abdication of her mother, Queen Juliana. During her reign, she oversaw a period of modernization and social change in the Netherlands.

Stuart Margolin – 1940 – an American actor, best known for his Emmy Award-winning role as “Angel” on “The Rockford Files” and his role on “The Dirty Dozen” TV series. He has also appeared in shows like “The Twilight Zone,” “Tales from the Darkside” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”

Vitalik Buterin – 1994 – a Russian-Canadian programmer, best known as the co-founder of the blockchain platform Ethereum. In 2014, Buterin launched Ethereum with a crowdfunding campaign that raised over $18 million.

1874 – The Jesse James gang robbed a train at Gads Hill, Missouri. The gang forced the train’s engineer to stop the train by waving a red lantern, and then began looting the passengers and the cargo. The gang made off with around $12,000 in cash and valuables.
