What happened in history on February 15th?
399 BC – Philosopher Socrates sentenced to death by drinking hemlock. He was charged with “refusing to recognize the Gods recognized by the state” and “corrupting the minds of the youth” of Athens. Socrates also refused to accept payment for his teachings, which some Athenians saw as a threat to the city’s traditional system of education.

1903 – 1st Teddy Bear introduced in America, by Morris and Rose Michtom, who owned a candy and stationery shop in Brooklyn, New York. Michtom was inspired to create the Teddy Bear after seeing a cartoon of President Theodore Roosevelt refusing to shoot a bear during a hunting trip. Morris’s wife sewed a stuffed bear and placed it in the window of their shop with a sign that read “Teddy’s bear,” after receiving permission from President Roosevelt to use his name.
1950 – Walt Disney’s animated film “Cinderella” premiered at the Boston Music Hall in Boston, Massachusetts. The film was a commercial and critical success, becoming the highest-grossing film of 1950 and receiving three Academy Award nominations.
1965 – Red Maple Leaf Flag inaugurated in a public ceremony on Parliament Hill as the official flag of Canada. The new flag was designed by George Stanley, a Canadian historian, after a long and controversial debate about the need for a distinctive national symbol for Canada.

There is a basketball court in the US Supreme Court building. The basketball court is located on the fifth floor of the building, above the Supreme Court chambers. It is informally known as the “Highest Court in the Land” and is used by the Supreme Court justices, law clerks and other court employees for recreational purposes.
There is a museum dedicated to failure. It is called the Museum of Failure and it is located in Helsingborg, Sweden. The museum was founded in 2017 and it features a collection of over 160 failed products and innovations from around the world.
