Clara Barton – 1821 – an American nurse and humanitarian who is best known for her role in founding the American Red Cross. During the American Civil War, Barton earned the nickname “Angel of the Battlefield” for her selfless service in providing medical aid to soldiers. In 1881 she founded the American Red Cross and served as its first president.

Helena Rubinstein – 1872 – a Polish businesswoman and cosmetics entrepreneur known as the founder of Helena Rubinstein Incorporated cosmetics company. In 1958, she sold her business to the cosmetics giant L’Oréal. This marked one of the largest business transactions in the beauty industry at that time.

Louis Chevrolet – 1878 – a Swiss race car driver and automotive engineer, best known as the co-founder of the Chevrolet Motor Car Company, which eventually became one of the most iconic American automobile manufacturers. The Chevrolet bowtie logo is said to have been inspired by a wallpaper pattern that Louis Chevrolet saw in a hotel in Paris.

Conrad Hilton – 1887 – an American hotelier and the founder of the Hilton Hotels chain. Conrad Hilton purchased his first hotel, the Mobley Hotel, in Cisco, Texas, in 1919 and in 1946, he founded the Hilton Hotels Corporation.

Earle Foxe – 1891 – a Canadian-American actor. Some of his notable film credits include: “Madam Satan”, “The Affairs of Anatol”, “Adam and Eva”, “The Cat and the Canary” and “The Great Gatsby”.

Humphrey Bogart – 1899 – an iconic American actor, widely regarded as one of the greatest performers in the history of American cinema. One of his most iconic roles was as Rick Blaine in the classic film “Casablanca”. The movie is considered one of the greatest in Hollywood history. He also starred in films such as “High Sierra”, “To Have and Have Not” and “The African Queen”, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor.

Barton Maclane – 1902 – an American actor. Some of his notable films include “The Maltese Falcon”, “High Sierra”, “The Treasure of the Sierra Madre” and “The Glenn Miller Story”. He also appeared in various television shows, including “The Twilight Zone,” “Perry Mason” and “I Dream of Jeannie.”

Mike Mazurki – 1907 – an American professional wrestler and actor. Some of his notable film roles include appearances in “Murder, My Sweet”, “Night and the City”, “Some Like It Hot”, “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World”, “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” and “Rio Bravo”.

Noel Hogan – 1971 – an Irish musician, best known as the lead guitarist and co-founder of the rock band The Cranberries.
