Alexander II – 1818 – also known as Alexander the Liberator, was the Emperor of Russia from 1855 until his assassination in 1881.

Fred Zinnemann – 1907 – an Austrian-American film director. Some of his most notable works include: “High Noon”, “From Here to Eternity”, “A Man for All Seasons” and “The Day of the Jackal”. Zinnemann received several Academy Awards, including Best Director Oscars for “From Here to Eternity” and “A Man for All Seasons”.

Tom Ewell – 1909 – an American actor best known for his role in the film “The Seven Year Itch” opposite Marilyn Monroe. The film is famous for the scene in which Marilyn Monroe’s white dress is blown up by a subway grate. He also appeared in a variety of other films such as “Adam’s Rib”, “The Girl Can’t Help It” and “The Lieutenant Wore Skirts”.

Deryck Guyler – 1914 – a British actor. Some of his notable film and TV appearances include “Carry On Nurse”, “A Stitch in Time”, “Sykes” and “Bilko”.

Celeste Holm – 1917 – an American actress best known for her roles in films such as “All About Eve”, “High Society” and “Gentleman’s Agreement”, for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She also appeared in various television shows, including “Fantasy Island,” “Falcon Crest” and “Archie Bunker’s Place.”

Irvin Kershner – 1923 – an American filmmaker known for directing “Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back”. He also directed several other notable films, including “A Fine Madness”, “The Eyes of Laura Mars” and “Never Say Never Again”, which was a non-official James Bond film starring Sean Connery.

Maxine Audley – 1923 – a British actress best known for her roles in films such as “Peeping Tom”, “Hell Is a City” and “A King in New York”.

Willie Nelson – 1933 – a legendary American musician and songwriter. Some of his most celebrated albums include “Stardust”, “Shotgun Willie” and “Red Headed Stranger”, which is often regarded as one of the greatest country albums of all time.

Jacob Rothschild – 1936 – a British investment banker, businessman and member of the prominent Rothschild banking family.

Lane Smith – 1936 – an American actor. Some of his notable film appearances include “My Cousin Vinny” and “The Mighty Ducks”. He is also known for his role as Perry White in the television series “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman”.

Reb Brown – 1948 – an American actor most famous for playing the title role in movies “Captain America” and “Captain America II: Death Too Soon”. He also made guest appearances on various television shows, including “The Six Million Dollar Man” and “The Love Boat.”

Dale Earnhardt – 1951 – an American professional car racing driver and one of the most iconic figures in the history of NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing). Over the course of his career, he won a total of 76 Cup Series races and collected seven Cup Series championships.

Nora Dunn – 1952 – an American actress best known for her time as a cast member on the comedy show “Saturday Night Live” (SNL). She has also appeared in numerous films including “Working Girl”, “Three Kings”, “Pineapple Express” and “The Heat”.

Jerry Seinfeld – 1954 – an American comedian who is widely regarded as one of the most influential and successful comedians in the history of stand-up comedy. He is best known for his work on the iconic television sitcom “Seinfeld,” which he co-created and starred in.

Kate Mulgrew – 1955 – an American actress best known for her role as Captain Kathryn Janeway in the television series “Star Trek: Voyager”. She has also appeared in several films and television shows, including “Cheers,” “Murder, She Wrote”, “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”, “Throw Momma from the Train” and “The Response”.

Leslie Jordan – 1955 – an American actor best known for his role as Beverly Leslie on the television series “Will & Grace”. He also appeared in films such as “Call Me Kat”, “Sordid Lives”, “Ski Patrol” and “The Cool Kids”.

Eve Plumb – 1958 – an American actress best known for her portrayal of Jan Brady in the television series “The Brady Bunch”. She also appeared in a few films during her career including “The Town That Dreaded Sundown” and “The Brady Brides”.

Andre Agassi – 1970 – an American tennis player, widely regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time. He won a total of eight Grand Slam singles titles and the gold medal in men’s singles tennis at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, representing the United States.

1968 – “Hair” musical opened at Biltmore Theater NYC. The show ran for 1750 performances.

2021 – One of the world’s longest pedestrian bridges, at 516 metres (1,700 feet) in length and an elevation of 175 meters (575 ft.), opened inside Portugal’s Arouca Geopark.

2022 – The Bach Long, world’s longest glassed-bottomed pedestrian bridge, opened in Moc Chau Island mountain park in Vietnam. The bridge is 2,000 ft. (610 meters) long, it has three layers of 40 mm of tempered glass and beneath it is a 500-foot plummet to a valley below.

The world’s first cosmonaut to orbit the Earth was a female dog named Laika. On November 3, 1957, she was aboard the spacecraft Sputnik 2 when it was launched into space.

In North Korea, citizens are not allowed to have the same name as the current president. So, everyone named Kim was made to change their names. 

There’s a town in Kentucky called Rabbit Hash where they always elect a dog as mayor. In November 2020 a French bulldog named Wilbur Beast was elected mayor with 13,143 votes out of a total of 22,985, which is the highest total ever for a Rabbit Hash election.
