Henri Nestlé – 1814 – Swiss entrepreneur, best known for founding the Nestlé company, one of the largest food and beverage companies in the world. Nestlé founded his company in 1867 and began producing a new type of infant food that was easier to digest and more nutritious than previous options.

Herbert Hoover – 1874 – 31st President of the United States. He was the last president whose term ended on March 3. Thereafter all presidential terms began and ended on January 20. 

Jack Haley – 1898 – an American actor, best known for his role as the Tin Man in the classic film “The Wizard of Oz”. Haley also appeared in numerous films, including “Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm” and “Sing Your Worries Away”.

Leo Fender – 1909 – an American inventor best known for founding the Fender Electric Instrument Manufacturing Company. Fender’s innovations revolutionized the music industry, particularly in the area of electric guitars. He invented the first mass-produced solid-body electric guitar, the Telecaster, which was followed by the Stratocaster.

Martha Hyer – 1924 – an American actress. She appeared in numerous films, including “Sabrina” with Audrey Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart, “Battle Hymn” and “Some Came Running” with Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. She also appeared in television shows such as “Perry Mason,” “The Twilight Zone” and “The Wild Wild West.”

Gus Mercurio – 1928 – an Australian actor best known for his roles in films such as “Crocodile Dundee” and “Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome”.

Tom Laughlin – 1931 – an American actor best known for his portrayal of the character Billy Jack in a series of films “Billy Jack”. Laughlin also appeared in films such as “South Pacific” and “The Delicate Delinquent.”

Doyle Brunson – 1933 – an American professional poker player, considered one of the greatest poker players of all time. He won 10 World Series of Poker bracelets and was the first player to earn $1 million in poker tournaments. He has written several books including “Super/System,” which is considered one of the most influential poker books ever written.

Kate O’Mara – 1939 – a British actress, known for her roles in television series such as “The Saint,” “The Avengers,” “Doctor Who” and soap opera “Dynasty.” O’Mara also appeared in several films including “The Vampire Lovers” and “The Horror of Frankenstein.”

Daniel Hugh Kelly – 1952 – an American actor, best known for his role as Mark Singleton in the soap opera “Ryan’s Hope.” He also appeared in many other television shows, including “Law & Order,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “Blue Bloods”, as well as films such as “Cujo,” “Star Trek: Insurrection” and “Sleeping with the Enemy.”

Justin Theroux – 1971 – an American actor and producer. He wrote several successful films, including “Tropic Thunder,” “Iron Man 2” and “Rock of Ages.” Theroux also appeared in several television shows and films, including “The Leftovers,” “Parks and Recreation,” “The Girl on the Train” and “On the Basis of Sex.”

The company has been extremely successful, making Jenner one of the youngest self-made billionaires in history.

Jeremy Maguire – 2011 – a child actor, best known for his role as Joe Pritchett on the ABC sitcom “Modern Family”. Maguire has also appeared in several other television shows and movies, including “The Magicians” and “I’m Not Here.”

1993 – Ruth Bader Ginsburg was sworn in as the second female U.S. Supreme Court Justice. She was widely admired for her intellect, her dedication to the law, and her tireless work to promote gender equality and women’s rights.

2003 – The first person to get married while in space. Russian cosmonaut Yuri Malenchenko married his fiancée Ekaterina Dmitrieva in a ceremony that took place while he was on board the International Space Station. The wedding ceremony was conducted via a video link and it was the first time that an official ceremony had been conducted between a person on Earth and someone in space.

2019 – Jeffrey Epstein, a wealthy financier and convicted sex offender, was found dead in his jail cell. Epstein was being held in the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City on charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of minors at the time of his death.
