Constantine the Great – 272 AD – a Roman emperor who ruled from AD 306 to 337. He is best known for being the first Roman emperor to convert to Christianity. Constantine is also known for founding the city of Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul) as the new capital of the Roman Empire in 330, which later became the capital of the Byzantine Empire.

Sveinn Bjornsson – 1881 – an Icelandic politician who served as the first President of Iceland from 1944 until his death in 1952. He played a significant role in Iceland’s journey to independence from Denmark, which was achieved in 1944.
