Frank Lucas – 1930 – an American drug trafficker. He was known for his extravagant lifestyle, which included luxury cars, jewelry and fur coats. Lucas’ life and criminal activities were the subject of the film “American Gangster,” in which he was portrayed by Denzel Washington.
Chaim Topol – 1935 – an Israeli actor, best known for his role as Tevye in the musical “Fiddler on the Roof”. Topol has appeared in numerous other films, including “Galileo”, “Flash Gordon” and “Left Luggage”.
Art LaFleur – 1943 – an American actor. LaFleur has appeared in over 100 film and television projects, including “Field of Dreams”, “The Santa Clause”, “Cobra”, “Major League”, “Monk” and “The X-Files”.
Robert Desiderio – 1951 – an American actor best known for his role as Ted Collier on the television series “One Life to Live”. He has also appeared in numerous other television shows, including “Knots Landing”, “The Sopranos”, “Law & Order,” “CSI: Miami” and “The West Wing.”

What happened in history on September 9th?
1543 – Mary Stuart crowned “Queen of Scots”, when she was just nine months old. Mary was the daughter of King James V of Scotland, and she became queen after his death.
1776 – The United Colonies officially renamed as the United States of America. The name “United States of America” was first used in the Declaration of Independence, which was adopted by the Continental Congress.
1908 – Orville Wright made the first hour-long flight, lasting a total of 1 hour, 2 minutes, and 15 seconds. This flight was a significant achievement at the time, as it demonstrated the feasibility of sustained and controlled flight over longer periods of time.
1913 – Russian aviator Pyotr Nesterov, is the first pilot to successfully perform the first loop maneuver in aviation history. The maneuver involved flying the aircraft in a vertical loop, with the nose of the plane pointing downwards as it completed the loop.
1956 – Elvis Presley appeared on “The Ed Sullivan Show” for the first time. The appearance was a highly anticipated event, as Sullivan’s show was one of the most popular programs on television at the time.
